Evolution of the Kassel Stuttering Therapy
The Kasseler Stuttering Therapy wins the renowned and prestigious E-Health Award 2022/23, awarded by the county of Hesse for the project “KST-Freach”, an online-plattform for a hybrid speech therapy.
In April 2022 Herbert Frosch joins the previous management of the Kassel Stuttering Therapy as its new CEO. In this context, the institute will be transitioned to the new KST Institut GmbH as its legal successor.
Dr. Wolff von Gudenberg is honoured in Frankfurt with the silver badge of honour of the Medical Association of the State of Hesse (LÄKH) for his many years of successful work.
In 2021, the Kassel Stuttering Therapy celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Since then, more than 4,000 clients have been successfully treated in over 70,000 online hours and nearly 500 courses. This is the top position nationwide and underlines the success of the Kassel Stuttering Therapy concept.
2020 in pandemic times, all therapies were converted to hybrid therapies, so that all important therapy contents could be continued without loss, whether in presence or online.
In 2019, the first Frankini course started. The new therapy approach was specifically developed for the age group „3-6 years“ and turns parents into experts for their stuttering child. In the course of developing the „Frankini” therapy concept, the therapy software „Flunatic Mini“ was also created, supporting even the young children in learning the new soft speech patterns.
In 2016, the software flunatic! was replaced by the new web-based version „Flunatic.Web“. Since then all clients could practice soft speech from anywhere on the internet.
In 2015, the Kassel Stuttering Therapy Institute was awarded the 2015 Medicine Management Prize for developing the world’s first teletherapy for people who stutter.
In 2014, the first online-only therapies of the Kassel Stuttering Therapy started. Together with the Techniker Krankenkasse, which makes this offer possible for its insured persons, clients received therapy online at home in a virtual therapy room over the course of 1 year.
In 2013, teletherapy supported patients in the crucial phase of aftercare. The teletherapeutic support of the Kassel Stuttering Therapy is unique in this form. Through regular group sessions in the virtual therapy room, patients receive therapeutic support close to their everyday lives in their social environment.
In 2012, only a few months after the new location in Hattingen was added in addition to Berlin, the Kassel Stuttering Therapy expanded the existing therapy options to include Eriskirch on Lake Constance, Nuremberg and Barendorf in the Lüneburg Heath.
In 2010, the Institute of Kassel Stuttering Therapy developed the smartphone app „FLUXXY“. A small spaceship, which is controlled by the volume of the voice, flies through space on a dangerous mission. „FLUXXY“ is intended to help children in particular to learn how to use their voice and breathing safely. The voice learns to fly!
In 2009, in the course of developing the „FranKa“ therapy concept, the already existing therapy software „flunatic!“ was also adapted. Thus, the therapy software „Flunatic junior“ was developed especially for children’s therapy of 6-9 year olds.
In 2009, the first „FranKa“ course took place in Bad Emstal. The therapy concept for children aged 6-9 who stutter was developed jointly by staff from the Kassel Stuttering Therapy and the University of Frankfurt am Main.
In 2008, the Kassel Stuttering Therapy Institute welcomed its 1,000th patient.
